  • Elon Musk’s X Reinstates Kanye West’s Account Despite Controversial Past Tweets

In a decision that has raised eyebrows, X, formerly known as Twitter and now owned by Elon Musk, has restored Kanye West’s account, seven months after his suspension for posting antisemitic tweets, including a disturbing image blending a Nazi swastika with the Star of David.

Despite his previous suspension for “incitement to violence,” Ye’s account, boasting 31.6 million followers and a verified badge, is back in action.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Ye’s account won’t display ads, and he won’t be able to monetize his posts under Musk’s new revenue sharing scheme. The account restoration came with a condition that Ye refrains from posting hateful or antisemitic content, but as of now, he has not posted again.

Elon Musk, who acquired X, quickly began unbanning accounts upon taking over, with many belonging to right-wing figures. Last week, X banned and then reinstated the account of a right-wing influencer who allegedly shared “child exploitation pictures.” The decisions surrounding account restorations continue to draw attention and speculation.
