Thirteen-year-old programming prodigy, Joshua Agboola, has become the youngest Certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Developer Associate in Africa.
The Nigerian whiz-kid achieved this remarkable feat after successfully passing a rigorous two-hour examination that assessed his skills and knowledge in deploying, troubleshooting, and developing on the AWS cloud platform.
Agboola’s journey began with his outstanding performance in the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner examination earlier in the year, which inspired him to take his cloud career further. Encouraged by his father and an older friend who is also a programmer, Joshua decided to pursue the more challenging Solutions Architect Associate certification. However, he eventually chose the tougher Developer Associate certification, seeing it as a path to possibly clinching the title of the youngest Developer Associate in the world, akin to a world record in the cloud space.
The young talent dedicated two to five hours daily for six weeks to study for the certification. The first two weeks involved understanding core concepts and gaining knowledge of potential exam topics. Joshua’s hard work paid off, as he not only achieved the Developer Associate certification but had also previously become the youngest in Africa to pass the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
Joshua’s achievement has not gone unnoticed. A tech company in Lagos has already offered to provide him with further technical mentorship. He now dedicates his accomplishment to young people aspiring to build a career in technology, encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
AWS Developer Associate certification demonstrates proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications, showcasing a deep understanding of core AWS services. Organizations with AWS-certified developers gain a competitive edge and ensure customer satisfaction.
Joshua’s story is a testament to the potential and talent young individuals possess in the technology industry. With his determination and passion, he has made a significant impact in the cloud space, inspiring others to follow their dreams in the world of technology.
